Offshore Development Information Statement (ODIS) Document Review
Provided technical advice to review the 2010 Off Shore Development Information Statement, (ODIS), which is a industry consultation document giving options for connecting round 3 wind farms to the main interconnected transmission system, (MITS).
Reviewed, marked up for comment and modified the existing text on sixteen (16) sections of the ODIS document, including the document's Executive Summary, Glossary of terms, Appendix 3 "Offshore Network Design Methodology", Chapters 2 "Offshore Development Information Statement" & Chapter 5 "Offshore and Local Onshore Connection Designs", a connections regional map around the UK and system reinforcement tables per wind farm area, checking for technical consistency and clarity.
Also reviewed, and marked up where appropriate, tables in the document covering Bristol Channel, Dogger Bank, Hornsea, Norfolk and North West Offshore Wind Farms, updating graphs and figures where applicable.
Consulted the Infrastructure Planning Commission - National Policy - Planning Act 2008 and its guidance document, to ensure ODIS was compliant with act.
Checked, examined and updated document to include Final Integrated, Radial, and Radial Plus HVDC Connections descriptions, alongside updated and checked hand drawn diagrams and tables.
Checked, examined, reviewed and documented offshore platform substation options such as AC 500 MW, AC 600 MW and AC 900 MW designs as well as 1 & 2 GW HVDC links together with offshore platform design descriptions.
